Science Spectrum’s G.O. STEAM! is a Girls Only club for 5th to 8th grade young ladies looking for extra opportunities getting hands-on experiences within varying STEAM fields. In two hour sessions over six weeks, participants will focus on a different letter of STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Each class will be led by a female museum educator, and the last evening of each series will feature a guest female speaker working professionally in a STEAM field.

This Spring’s series focuses on the A in STEAM, SCI-ART. Participants will unleash their creativity and learn new technological skills. Experiment with treating and manipulating textiles, photography, and lighting. Use a CAD (computer aided design) program to design greyscale and mosaic digital artwork. Also, digitally design and cut on a laser cutter to make a mixed media piece of art with wood and thread. Learn to sew by hand and try out multiple types of stitches, applique fabric, and simple hand embroidery. Join others with similar interests while building up the local STEAM community.

Please register and purchase separately for each attendee.
